Rancho Tres Hijos has been very fortunate to quickly establish a quality cow herd that gets back to the basics of the six essentials of the Beefmaster. Starting with heifers obtained from one of the oldest, and closed, Beefmaster herds in existence today, the ranch has carefully controlled the genetics and phenotype and has developed a cow herd that can live in a very harsh environment yet still meet the needs of the modern cattle buyer. By carefully selecting heifers using artificial insemination technology with bulls with proven records, and extensive culling, the Rancho Tres Hijos herd is now recognized as one of the premier Beefmaster herds in Texas.
